It's a washout as all the games are abandoned

Posted: July 21, 2007

All matches in the JCT 600 Bradford League were abandoned today without a ball being bowled. It is the second time this season when all the games have fallen victime to rain. The first occasion was June 30.

The latest abandonments take the total for the season to 77 out of a total of 404 matches in all four divisions. That means that 19 per cent of all games have had to be abandoned.

Both the Second Teams Division One and Two have had 21 matches abandoned, while the First Teams Division One has had 20 matches wrecked by the weather.

The division which has seen the least abandonments is the first teams Division Two which has suffered 15 abandonments.

Esholt second team are the side who have most reason for feeling under the weather. They have had five of their 16 fixtures abandoned this season.

But before you get too depressed by the weather statistics it is worth remembering that last season 154 games from a total of 628 fixtures were abandoned. That represented a loss of 24.52 per cent of the total fixtures.
