Champions Woodlands extended their lead at the top of the JCT600 Bradford League Division One to 52 points on a day when ever game was abandoned because of rain.

Woodlands featured in the first team game which produced the most cricket - 21 overs at Hanging Heaton before the match became another victim of the weather.

In that time Hanging Heaton had slipped to 69-4 with Pieter Swanepoel taking three for 13 to help earn his side two bowling points. Sujith Vidanage (32) was the only batsman to look at easy in bowler friendly conditions.

Provided they don't slip up at home to Baildon next week, Woodlands could clinch the Division One title for a third successive year when they visit second-placed East Bierley on September 1.

Only two more Division One games started. Eighteen overs were possible at Brighouse where the home side had advanced to 56-1 in their relegation scrap with Idle before play was halted. Overseas batsman Rizwan Ahmed was unbeaten on 36.

Play was possible for justy eight overs at Moorend when visitors Bowling Old Lane struggled to 14-1 after eight overs against Cleckheaton.

There wasn't a single ball bowled in Division Two leaving the promotion race as tight as ever with just three games remaining.
