Leaders Woodlands extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches as they overcame a few anxious moments to defeat Farsley by three wickets in the JCT 600 Bradford League Division One.

It looked as if it was going to be easy for the defending champions when they bowled out Farsley for 127, but they slipped to 88-7 before edging home. Sam Frankland (23) and Murphy Walwyn (20) were their top scorers.

Left arm spinner Chris Brice again played a key part in the Woodlands win. He took four for 36 as Farsley's batsmen were made to struggle. Matthew Green (43) and former Yorkshire player Ashley Metcalfe (30no) were their top scorers.

Woodlands picked up16 points but saw their lead cut by two to 23 as second-placed East Bierley kept alive their hopes with a 29-run win at Manningham Mills which earned them 18 points. Their wicketkeeper Lee Goddard made an unbeaten 102 – the only century of the day – and gained support from overseas all-rounder Jaffer Nazir as a total of 195-6 was posted. Goddard hit a six and 13 fours in a match reduced to 40 overs a side.

Mills' overseas player Asif Hussain led a spirited reply and hit 89 but his side were bowled out for 166 with Nazir claiming three for 16 and former Yorkshire left armer Paul Hutchison (3-37).

Another former Yorkshire player in good form was off spinner Jeremy Batty. He took six for 14 as Baildon bowled out Brighouse for 55 as they secured an eight-wicket win.

Pudsey Congs strengthened their hold on third place with a six-wicket success against Idle. They restricted their relegation-threatened visitors to 162-8 and eased home by six wickets with opener Alexis Twigg making 59.

Idle are now deep in trouble and are second from bottom, just two points ahead of Bradford & Bingley who sank to the foot of the table when they suffered a nine-wicket defeat to a Hanging Heaton side who occupied that position at the start of play.

Bradford & Bingley skipper Carl Sharp had identified his side's lack of runs as the reason for their slide and he certainly wasn't wrong in his assessment. Bradford & Bingley were dismissed for just 59 as Sri Lankan Thilan Thushara took three for 23. Hanging Heaton had little trouble in reaching their victory target.

Bowling Old Lane are hovering just above the relegation places. They were dismissed for just 37 as they lost by 132 runs at Saltaire. Imran Arif (5-17) and Mansa Khan (4-20) ran through Old Lane 's batting after Saltaire had made 169-9 with Wasim Munawar making 54 and new overseas Masood Assam (30).

Cleckheaton all-rounders Ian Wood and Mohammad Zaman inspired their team's nine-run victory over Pudsey St Lawrence .

Wood hit five sixes and six four in an unbeaten 69 while Zaman hit two sixes and six fours in his 58 as Cleckheaton made 222-7. St Lawrence appeared to be going well when they reached 105-1 in reply with opener Mark Robertshaw making 63, but they collapsed to 122-6 and despite a breezy 59 from Nottinghamshire's Gareth Clough, finished on 213-9. Wood took three for 54 and Zaman (3-34).

There was an amazing finish to the top-of-Division Two clash between Yeadon and Esholt. Wicketkeeper Adrian Taylor was run out off the final ball to give leaders Yeadon a one-run win. Esholt, despite 38 from skipper Richard Whitehurst, were all out for 102. Left armer Steve Cobley took seven for 35 for Yeadon. Overseas Aamer Sajjad top scored with an unbeaten 44 when Yeadon were dismissed for 44 as Nadeem Hanif claimed five

Yeadon are now five points ahead of Gomersal who defeated Hartshead Moor by 101 runs. Richard Gould made 36 and Adam Greenwood (32) as Gomersal made 162 all out. Andrew Waudby was in good form for Hartshead Moor taking five for 34 - including a hat-trick.

Hartshead Moor had no answer to Gomersal's Kiwi seamer Garrick Sutherland who polished them off for just 61 as he took seven for 18.

Keighley's promotion hopes suffered a jolt when they suffered a 16-run defeat against Morley who are now very much back in the frame. Opener Matthew Taylor made 87 as Morley made 153, then teenage off spinner Tom Smith returned his best first team figures of five for 32 as Keighley were dismissed for 137 despite 53 from Richard Robinson. Morley are now third, one point behind Gomersal and ten ahead of Keighley and Esholt.

Undercliffe's fading promotion hopes suffered another setback when they lost by 52 runs to Great Horton. Skipper Kashif Naveed made 40 as Great Horton posted a score of 181 all out despite good bowling from spinner Peter Oldham (6-54). Undercliffe were dismissed for 129 of which Andrew Duckworth made 60. Naveed completed a fine individual performance by taking four for 25.

Lightcliffe continued their climb with a three-wicket win over Windhill which was inspired by skipper Richard Nichols. He took five for 27 as Windhill were restricted to 112-9. Lightcliffe had problems against the bowling of Ibrahim Mohammad (5-21) but edged home thanks to james Flower (29no).

The misery continues for rock-bottom Spen Victoria. They were dismissed for just 78 as they suffered a seven-wicket defeat against Bankfoot. Nigel Hanson exposed their brittle batting with five for 17.
