Champions Woodlands have been struggling at the wrong end of the JCT 600 Bradford League Division One table for much of the season but they found their form to defeat leaders Farsley in a high-scoring encounter.
All-rounder Richard Godfrey was their match-winner. He struck a fine 101 as Woodlands made 286-9 and followed up by taking four for 63 as Farsley were dismissed for 255. Skipper Phil Walker (78) and Cieran Garner (40) were the other main scorers for Woodlands.
Farsley's innings was dominated by an outstanding innings of 115 by opener Barry Frankland. He was given good support by young Theren Modley (37) in an opening stand of 127, but after they were parted the wickets tumbled at regular intervals.
Lightcliffe seized on Farsley's defeat to take over at the top. They are now nine points clear after beating Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield holders East Bierley by 84 runs. Veteran Roger Stead produced a fine all-round performance making 36 with the bat and taking four for 24 with the ball.
His runs enabled Lightcliffe to build on the good work of opener Robert Crookes (53) as a score of 198-9 was made despite the efforts of East Bierley skipper Matthew Anderson (5-37). East Bierley's batting was disappointing and they were dismissed for 114.
Umar Rehman took six for 64 as Hanging Heaton bowled out Pudsey Congs for 138 to secure a 12-run win, That Congs got so close was due to their skipper Michael Oldfield who made an unbeaten 48 batting at number ten. Earlier, Michael Smith (48) and Howard Ellis (32) had helped Hanging Heaton to make 150-9.
Baildon's slid into the e relegation places as they lost by eight-wickets at Keighley. Robert French (5-33) and Jake Hoyle (3-28) helped bowl out Baildon for 137. Keighley knocked off the runs for the loss of two wickets with opener Andrew Waggett hitting an unbeaten 79.
Gomersal lifted themselves off the bottom of the table when they defeated Pudsey St Lawrence by seven wickets. Opener Usman Salin made a sparkling 130 not out and was joined in a second-wicket partnership of 145 by Alan Sumner (66) as Gomersal eased past Pudsey St Lawrence's score of 252-7 with seven overs to spare.
St Lawrence's innings was dominated by a superb knock of 114 by opener James Milligan. His main support came from Lee Mortimer (36) while Gomersal's top bowler was Ryan Kitson (4-32).
Saltaire continued their revival with another win. This time they beat Bowling Old Lane - the team promoted from Division Two with them last season - by five wickets.
All-rounder Nadeem Mohammed had a fine match taking four for 13 and following up by making 41. Thanks to Mohammad, Old Lane were dismissed for 132 despite 48 from Shaid Alishan. Saltaire reached their target in 30 overs.
Yeadon remain rooted to the bottom following their two-wicket defeat by Esholt. Masaver Massadique made 70 to guide esholt to their win as they overhauled a Yeadon score of 182.
Manningham Mills stretched their lead in Division Two to seven points after beating Windhill by 112 runs to collect a maximum 20 points. Opener Mohammad Faisal scored 102 as Mills made 256 all out. Fazal Choudhary made 43. Windhill were dismissed for 144 in reply despite 78 from Tahir Amin. Amjad Tariq (3-32) and Syed Ahmed (3-31) were the main wicket takers.
Second-placed Cleckheaton dismissed Idle for just 95 as they cruised to a nine-wicket win. Teenage all-rounder Marcus Walmsley had a fine match. He took three for 14 and followed it up by cracking 62 to seal his side's victory.
Third-placed Spen Victoria returned to winning ways with a 53-run win over Bankfoot. Opener Derek Warriner (39) and Sam Birkinshaw (31) were the main contributors as Spen Victoria made 168 despite good bowling from John Wilson (4-29).
Bankfoot struggled in reply as Spen's teenage left arm opening bowler Tom Sharp took four for 26. Bankfoot were dismissed for 113 with Nick Gomersal top scoring with 26 not out.
Hartshead Moor secured their first win when they beat Bradford & Bingley by 77 runs. Danny Barlow (5-25) and Jeff Wind (4-31) bowled out Bradford & Bingley for 120 when they replied to a Hartshead Moor score of 197-6 in which opener Jamie Priestley made 48 not out and extras contributed 47.
Dave Maloney took five for 38 as Brighouse defeated Morley by four wickets. Morley were dismissed for 136 and despite losing early wickets against Eddie Ream (4-34), Brighouse got home with four-wickets intact.
Great Horton opener Mohammad Daud smashed an unbeaten 114 and with help from Zabir Ashraf (50) guided his side to a total of 243. in their 120-run win over Undercliffe. Jamil Akhtar (3-10) was the main wicket taker as Undercliffe were dismissed for 123 despite 50 from opener Jed Din.
