CUP OF CHEER DOESN'T FLOW
Posted:May 7, 2007
Idle ended a miserable weekend with a heavy defeat in the first round of the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup to Bradford & Bingley. In the days only all First Division tie it was the visitors who batted first and despite a fantastic opening spell from Greg Colehan 10-5-12-2 and good support from Andrew Marshall with three quick wickets which reduced them to 47-5 the visitors wracked up an imposing total of 213 thanks mainly to a seventh icket partnership of 113 from Robert Walker and veteran Richard McCarthy.
In reply Idle lost wickets at steady intervals and when David Clow had spun his way through the middle order with 5-29 the fat lady was singing when Greg Colehan was stumped leaving the home side on a disappointing 116 all out.
