Following the first Round Match on Sunday, June 8,2008, between Hull /YPI & Collingham, the result was advertised in the media & on various web sites.

There were three contacts made with myself, as secretary, questioning the composition of the Hull team. It was pointed out that in fact some of the players were regular members of Hull's ECB Yorkshire Premier League side. In this instance, having checked the Yorkshire League results I discovered that 4 of the team that beat Collingham were involved in the majority of those games.

 

This information was put to the Organising Panel, who were unanimous in their decision to disqualify Hull & Ypi from this years competition for not upholding the 'Spirit of either Cricket or this Competition'. This decision was not taken lightly, but the Panel felt that it was in the interest of the integrity of the competition, which was paramount. The decision was communicated to the Hull Secretary who was in full agreement of the decision, he unreservedly apologised for the decision taken by the team to include these players.

 

Therefore Collingham & Linton have been advised of this decision & invited back into the competition where they would meet Honley in the seconnd round, should they accept.
