Six of the best for Congs skipper Oldfield in Pudsey derby win

Pudsey Congs skipper Michael Oldfield bowled his side to an emphatic win over St Lawrence in the Pudsey derby.

Oldfield took six for 20 as his side bowled out St Lawrence for 118 to secure a 105-run win in their first round tie. He was given good support by Callum Oliver (3-4)

Lee. Mortimer (61) was the only batsman to reach double figures for St Lawrence as they departed from this season's competition.

Paul Eachus continued his good start to the season by hitting 45 for Congs while Callum Oliver (40) and Paul Allinson (39) as they compiled a formidable score of 223-8.

Holders East Bierley cruised to a nine-wicket win at Spen Victoria. They bowled out the home side for 102 and knocked off the runs easily with Scott Douglas making 49 not out and Steve Simpson (33).

Opener Craig Smith made an unbeaten 81 as Undercliffe defeated Bradford & Bingley by 48 runs. Undercliffe made 172-9 despite the efforts of Bradford & Bingley skipper Peter Clarke (4-22) and Steve Dunn (3-36).

Bradford & Bingley were dismissed for 124 with Sonny Matharu taking three for 14 and Sofian Khan (3-24).

Cleckheaton made light work of beating Bankfoot by nine wickets. Fraser Green (4-32) and Marcus Walmsley (3-14) shot Bankfoot out for 87. Cleckheaton eased to victory with Christ Stott making 34 and Marcus Walmsley (31).

The best finish was at Esholt where the home side edged home by one wicket. Last-wicket pair John Horton (37no) and Ben Brian shared an unbroken partnership of 21 to steer their side past the Brighouse score of 139. Dave Maloney (4-20) and Dan Dunkerley (2-18) were the best of the Brighouse bowlers.

Chris Maloney (35) was top scorer for Brighouse while Stefan Garbus took four for 35 for Esholt as they secured their third win of the season.

Opener Alan Broadley (40) and skipper Alan Birkett (36no) guided Keighley to a six-wicket win over Great Horton. Jamil Akhtar (43) was the top scorer for Great Horton who were dismissed for 133 as Paul Wilkinson took three for 14 in his ten overs.

Liam Thewlis took (3-35) and Adam Walker (3-32) as Farsley scored a 22-run win over Windhill. Adam Sutcliffe impressed for Windhill as he scored 57 as his side made 173 in reply to Farsley's total of 195-8.

Hanging Heaton's batsmen were in good form as they defeated Yeadon by 81 runs. Dave Lawrence reached his half-century in 32 balls on his way to making 66, while opener Howard Ellis made 65 and Ben Gilbert (37) helped their side reach 232-9. Paul Machell was the best Yeadon bowler with three for 26.

Yeadon, the 2005 winners, were bowled out for 151 with only Jonathan Carey (31) and Ben Galley (30) making an impression against the bowling of Ben Gilbert (4-18).

Division Two side Idle toppled last season's Division One runners up Lightcliffe by six wickets. Lightcliffe were bowled out for 124 despite a good knock of 62 from Amir Yaqub. Matthew Marshall (3-18) was the pick of the Idle bowlers. Idle eased to their victory target with Paul Wright (35no) and Shane Marshall (27no) sharing an unbroken fifth-wicket partnership.
