Division One
The season is only four weeks old yet already Division One has its third different leader.
Baildon followed Woodlands and Saltaire to the summit with a 51-run at Pudsey St Lawrence. Opener Jonny Reynolds (74) and Ahsan Butt (41) took Baildon to a score of 233-8, then spinners Harry Smallwood (4-21) and Mushtaq Ahmed (3-49) bowled out St Lawrence for 182 to secure a 20-point maximum.
They are 16 points clear of previous leaders Saltaire who saw their run of three straight wins ended by Pudsey Congs.
Uzair Mahomed hit an unbeaten 114 for Congs as they made 246-6 before declaring with five overs remaining after a rain stoppage. Adam Patel (49) and Andrew Bairstow (31) also made the Saltaire bowlers toil.
When Saltaire batted they soon ran into trouble. Nijad Ahmed (4-24) ran through the early Saltaire batting before Andy Siddall (3-24) wrapped up Congs's third win in three matches.Saltaire were all out for just 89.
Champions Woodlands suffered their second successive defeat as improving East Bierley defeated them by 126 runs. East Bierley dominated the game throughout and their margin of victory reflected their dominance.
Andrew Rennison continued his good early season form with a stylish 53 while Durham wicketkeeper Lee Goddard made 36 in an East Bierley total of 235-9. Without overseas bowler Safraz Ahmed and injured spinner Chris Brice, the Woodlands attack lacked a cutting edge.
The same couldn't be said for East Bierley. Their new captain paul Hutchison led the way with five for 16 and Chris Elstub took three for 45 as Woodlands were dismissed for a dismal 109.
Woodlands dropped to fifth place and are now behind Yeadon who recorded their second win in six days over Cleckheaton to take fourth position.
Yeadon ensured that Cleckheaton didn't gain revenge for last Sunday's Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup defeat by edging home by two runs. Dan Shuffe proved again what a good recruit he is by making an unbeaten 70 to guide Yeadon to 171-7 declared. Paul Machell then sealed Yeadon's slender victory by taking four for 42 as Cleckheaton were bowled out for 169 despite the efforts of Ian Nicholson (47) and Mark Cummins (35).
Last season's Division Two champions Farsley recorded their first win when they beat Manningham Mills by 113 runs. Ashley Metcalfe (65), Shabbir Rashid (48), David Syers (46) and Harpal Ryatt (45) powered Farsley to their best score of the season - 284-9. Zeeshan Qasim (4-78) and Nasar jamal (3-62) were the pick of the bowlers.
Mills never threatened to challenge that total and were bowled out for 171 as Chris Henry took four for 42. Adil Islam was the only Mills batsman to shine with 57.
Hanging Heaton remain rooted to the bottom after a fourth straight defeat. They went down by five wickets to Bradford & Bingley. Chris Thompson was the catalyst for his side's win blasting 82 in rapid time with four sixes and nine fours. Matthew Duce (31) also played his part as Bradford & Bingley recovered from 17-3 to pass Hanging Heaton's total of 155 all out.
Skipper Alan Mynett was the top scorer for Hanging Heaton who found the going tough against the evergreen Richard McCarthy (4-28) who has taken 12 wickets in just three matches as he closes in on the 1,000 Bradford League wickets mark - he has now taken 949.
Division Two
Bankfoot scored a thrilling last-ball win at Spen Victoria to open a 14-point lead at the top of the table.
When rain reduced the game by eight overs, they were left with 42 overs to overhaul a Spen Victoria total of 153 and they just made it.
Teenage all-rounder Marcus Walmsley was their match-winner. He made a fine 74 after earlier taking three for 40. Former Spen man John Barton (38no) also played a key part in the successful run chase.
For Spen, Tosh Baker top scored with 71 as they were kept in check by Walmsley and the old warhorse Greg Colehan (3-41).
Lightcliffe remain second despite a four-wicket defeat at Bowling Old Lane. Lightcliffe were dismissed for just 78 as Kamran Siddique took three for 13 and Mushtaba Akthar (3-17). Old Lane had a few nervy moments before edging hom.
Windhill moved up to third after a convincing 77-run win over Morley. Mohammad Altaf (93), Luke Holroyd (49_ and Farakh Hussain (47) enabled them to post a total of 205-4 declared. Morley were soon in trouble when they replied and only the efforts of their ninth-wicket pair of Nathan Bromby (33) and Tom Smith (29) got them to 128 all out.
Hartshead Moor produced another outstanding result as they defeated Undercliffe by 62 runs. Their hero was Craig Woodhead who took seven for 44 as Undercliffe crumbled to 98 all out in reply to Hartshead Moor's 160 all out. Danny Squire (38) and Graham Hilton (34) were the main contributors in the face of good bowling from Ben Heritage (4-45) and Chris Greenwood (3-24)
Idle's new-look team won again. They defeated Great Horton by three wickets after dismissing their rivals for 94. Nasir Chowdrey (4-28) and Kurtis Whippey (4-38) did the damage. Idle had some anxious moments as their former player Tahir Mahmood took four for 25, but they kept their nerve to secure the victory.
There was also a first league win for Keighley who defeated Brighouse by 134 runs. Andy Waggett (64), Australian Jake Best (51) and Richard Robinson (38no) helped them to a total of 191-4 before bowling out Brighouse for 57. Robinson took three for three and Paul Quinlan (3-26)
