Milligan's ton takes St Lawrence to the top of the table

Pudsey St Lawrence skipper James Milligan powered his side to the top of the table with a splendid innings of 141 as his side defeated Undercliffe by 144 runs.

Seven sixes and 16 fours flowed from Milligan's bat while Father and son Chris Hester (76no) and Dave Hester (34) helped swell the St Lawrence score to an impressive 302-5. They went on to claim maximum points by dismissing Undercliffe for 158. Steve Bishop (58) was the only Undercliffe batsman to impress as one of their former player Richard Marsden took four for 41.

St lawrence have taken over top spot from Yeadon who had a miserable day. Beaten 2-1 in their delayed Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield bowl out at lunchtime, they then saw their game with champions East Bierley abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Newly-promoted Morley also took advantage of Yeadon's inactivity to go second. Ash Daley took four for five as Morley dismissed bottom team Keighley for 68 to clinch a 117-run win. Andy Hayward's (65) was the cornerstone of Morley;s total of 185-9.

Hanging Heaton's Michael Royce was in sparkling form. He made 100 and with support from David Lawrence (73) enabled his side to post a total of 252-7. Christian Horner was Farsley's best bowler with five for 65.

Farsley made a bold attempt to go for the runs. Matthew Green led the way with 104, but Umar Rehman 5-35 ensured that Hanging Heaton ran out 17-run winners.

Teenage bowler Scott Richardson took five for 38 and veteran off spinner Phil Walker (3-16) as Woodlands defeated lowly Pudsey Congs by 32 runs. Richardson and Walker ensured that Congs, despite the efforts of Phil Allinson (47) and Irfan Amjad (39), would end up defeated. Robert Medcalf (44) and Tom Smallwood (40) took Woodlands to a total of 177 all out. Young Josh Purser took three for six for Congs.

Division 2

Adam Brown smashed five sixes and 15 fours in an aggressive innings of 119 as Spen Victoria inflicted a first defeat of the season on Lightcliffe and took over their place at the top of the table.

Brown dominated Spen's innings of 227-9 and though Lightcliffe made a bright start to their reply, through Michael Brooke (61) and Mark Loker (50) they were eventually dismissed for 155 as left-arm spinner Tom Sharp took (6-64) and John Ireland (3-28).

Spen now head the table by four points. Saltaire are now third - a further ten points back - after defeating Gomersal by 58 runs. Usman Arshad (60) top scored in Saltaire's total of 162-8, then David Smith took five for 35 as Gomersal were bowled out for 104.

Dave Pearce produced another match-winning display for Windhill He took six for 32 as Bankfoot were dismissed for 101. Windhill knocked off the runs for the loss of six wickets.

Bradford & Bingley are finally running into form after a slow start. They defeated Idle by 155 runs after making 230-9 before dismissing idle for 75. Veteran Adam Swallow smashed 66 while Andrew Clarke (42) and Peter -Clarke (32) were Bingley's other main contributors. Michael Clarke (3-8) and Rashid Latif (3-28) prospered as Idle crumbled.

Great Horton's Majid Khan made an unbeaten 102 as his side inflicted a 115-run defeat on Brighouse. Shabbir Ellahi (57) was also in the runs for Great Horton. Ellahi followed up his half-century by taking five for 43 as Brighouse, despite 61 from Nigel Elkin, were dismissed for 131.

The match between Manningham Mills and Hartshead Moor was abandoned by umpires Richard Jones and Paul Wiseman for alleged misconduct when Hartshead Moor were 69-2 in reply to Manningham Mills' score of 113 all out. Andy Halford took five for 41 for Hartshead Moor. The allocation of points from this game will be determined by the Management Board.
