Division One

Teenage batsman Dave Hester hit a career-best 159 as leaders Pudsey St Lawrence thrashed their arch-rivals Pudsey Congs by 248 runs.

Hester, assisted by Phil Wilson (59) and skipper James Milligan (55), guided his side to a mammoth score of 328-6.

St Lawrence then rubbed salt into Congs' wounds by dismissing them for just 80 with Richard Marsden (4-26), Chris Sharkey (3-14) and Adam Hopkins (3-3) doing the damage. Only skipper Michael Oldfield emerged with any credit for Congs. He took three for 77 and top-scored with 32 not out.

St lawrence are 18 points ahead of Yeadon who had a 13-run win over Hanging Heaton. Skipper Andrew Pickering top scored with 48 as Yeadon were dismissed for 148. Pete Byrne (5-10) and Chris Goodair (3-24) were the best of the Hanging Heaton bowlers.

When Hanging Heaton replied they were dismissed for 135 as Richard Wood took five for 24 and Oliver Halliday (3-47).

The chances of champions East Bierley pulling off a hat-trick of league titles suffered a double setback at Baildon. Not only did they lose by four wickets, they also lost skipper Matthew Anderson with a dislocated shoulder. The results means they are now ninth - 58 points adrift of leaders Pudsey St Lawrence.

East Bierley were always up against it after being dismissed in 38 overs for a below-par score of 135. Tom Owens was the pick of the batsmen with 65 in the face of steady bowling from Matthew Reed (3-43) and Tim Forster (3-19). Baildon batted steadily to reach their victory target for the loss of six wickets. Darren Wilson was unbeaten on 51 when victory was achieved while Ali Malik made 40.

Morley, who started the day in second place, dropped to third after being skittled out for just 83 at Cleckheaton. Stuart Houlbrook was again the pick of the Cleckheaton bowlers with five for nine. Teenager Shahid Rehman chipped in with three for ten. Cleckheaton had their troubles knocking off the runs but eventually scraped home by three wickets.

Woodlands are fourth after beating Undercliffe by 42 runs. Teenage seam bowler Scott Richardson (5-42) and wily off spinner Phil Walker (4-22) bowled Woodlands to their victory.

Undercliffe, despite a fine 89 from Craig Smith, were dismissed for 181 in reply to a Woodlands score of 223-6 which included 64 from wicketkeeper Scott Osbourne and 38 from opener Tom Smallwood. Sohail Khan took three for 63 for Undercliffe.

Rock-bottom Keighley suffered a sixth-successive defeat after being dismissed for 85 by Bowling Old Lane. Arman Hussain made 42 not out to steer Old Lane to victory by nine wickets.

Division Two

Lightcliffe defeated Brighouse by ten wickets to return to the top of the table. Openers Michael Brooke (72no) and Richard Crookes (58no) steered their side past the Brighouse score of 141-8 in just 21.5 overs. .

They have a five-point advantage over Spen Victoria who lost their chance of retaining the leadership when their match with Gomersal was curtailed by rain.

Skipper Peter Clarke (79) and Michael Clarke (30) had ensured that the right tempo was set in the middle of the innings after Bradford & Bingley slipped to 22-3 in pursuit of Saltaire's 214-7.

Usman Munir was unlucky to finish on the losing side. He hit 12 fours in a fine 101 for Saltaire and followed up by taking three for 64. Joe Hicks (53) was the other main contributor for Saltaire.
