The proposed structure for the new Twenty/20 Cup is being revealed to clubs by the sub-committee given responsibility for organising the competition.
The 20 clubs who have expressed an interest in competiting have been placed into four regionalised groups in a competition that will be known as the Dyson Insulation Cup after the sponsors.
The teams will play each other home and away with four points awarded for a win, two for a tie and one for an abandoned match.
The top two teams in each of the groups will then qualify for the quarter-finals that will be played under the soon to be installed permanent floodlights at Bradford & Bingley's Wagon Lane ground. These matches will also be played with pink balls - provided by the sponsor.
The semi-finals and the finals will also be played at Wagon Lane. The floodlight stages will also include a one-over sudden play off if a match ends in a tie.
All of the umpiring costs for the competition are being paid for by the sponsors.
Draft fixtures for the competition have been drawn up and these are also being circulated to clubs. There will a fixture meeting for each group where clubs will be able to discuss and agree any changes they might wish to make. After the fixture meeting no further changes will be able to be made.
