Woodlands and Baildon will be carrying the JCT 600 Bradford League's hopes in the quarter-finals of the Solly Sports Heavy Woollen Cup.

Woodlands bounced back from their successive league defeats by Baildon and East Bierley by defeating Division Two side Undercliffe by seven wickets.

Undercliffe knocked Woodlands out of the competition two years ago but a repeat was never on the cards.

The league champions bowled out Undercliffe for just 68 with Pieter Swanepoel taking three for seven, Sam Frankland (3-12) and Phil Walker (3-15). Frankland followed up his wickets by making an unbeaten 48 to seal victory.

Baildon took their winning sequence to seven league and cup games with an 85-run triumph over Central Yorkshire League side Wakefield Thornes. Simon Webb (95) and Ahsan Butt (74) guided Baildon to 240-8, then left armer Andy Walker took five for 43 as Thornes were dismissed for 155.

Yeadon's hopes of a place in the last eight were shattered by Methley. Chris Smith made 100 and former East Bierley wicketkeeper Ryan Bradshaw (85no) as the Central Yorkshire League side overhauled Yeadon's score of 278-5. Dan Shuffe (61no), James Todd (61) and Andrew Robertson (50) were Yeadon's main contributors.

Hanging Heaton also bowed out of the competition after a 33-run defeat by last year's beaten finalists Barnsley. The Yorkshire League side made 216-6 with skipper Jason Booth (36), former Pudsey Congs batsman Andrew Bourke (33) and Greg Batty (30) all making useful contributions. Hanging Heaton lost early wickets and were eventually dismissed for 183, Qasim Sheikh made 47 and skipper Alan Mynett (37). Simon Widdup was the most successful Barnsley bowler with four for 33.

Monday night's quarter-final draw will see Woodlands and Baildon joined by three Drakes Huddersfield League sides, Shelley, Barkisland and Shepley, two Solly Sports Central Yorkshire League outfits, Methley and holders Wrenthorpe, and Yorkshire League team Barnsley

Woodlands teenage batsman Tom Smallwood produced a sensational performance in the Crowther Cup. The 17-year-old made a stunning 173 as Woodlands successfully chased a Mirfield Parish Cavaliers score of 294-5 to win by six wickets.

Hanging Heaton are the only other Bradford League team in the quarter finals. They bowled out Huddersfield League side Golcar for just 83 with Chris Goodaire taking five for 27. David Lawrence scored an unbeaten 32 as Hanging Heaton edged to a four-wicket win.

Townville - who defeated Baildon by six wickets, holders Barnsley, Methley, Birstall, Slaithwaite and New Farnley complete the quarter final line up,
