Pudsey St Lawrence and Hanging Heaton are set to meet in an absorbing Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield final at Spen Victoria on Sunday (1pm).
St Lawrence, chasing the Second Teams Division One and Shield double, will be seen as favourites in most people's eyes, but Hanging Heaton have a side full of experienced campaigners and are more than capable of derailing the Tofts Road club's hopes.
Hanging Heaton have seasoned campaigners like Peter Byrne and Howard Ellis who featured in their side which last won the Shield in 2003.
They are backed up by some talented youngsters such as batsman Nabeel Hafeez and off spinner Umar Rehman - a consistent wicket taker.
Hanging heaton will be without their attacking middle order batsman David Lawrence. He has been battling to shrug off an injury.
St Lawrence, who last won the trophy in 1999, have a powerful batting line up which has served them well this season.
Skipper James Milligan, teenage left hander David Hester, Phil Wilson and Hester's dad Chris have all been consistent runscorers.
It is the power of the Saints' batting which has characterised their domination of Second Teams Division One and which ultimately enabled them to end East Bierley's domination of the Shield in the semi-final.
East Bierley had played in the five previous finals winning in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and losing in 2005.
St Lawrence's bowling attack has been spearhead this season by former Undercliffe, Spen Victoria and Esholt opening bowler Richard Marsden. He has been a consistent wicket taker.
Marsden has been backed up by the accurate Chris Hester and young Chris Sharkey.
