East Bierley's John Davies became the first player to take a hat-trick in the Dyson Insulations Twenty/20 Cup to wrap up an 86-run win over Cleckheaton.
The result took East Bierley to the top of Group 4 at the halfway point in the first round stage.
Davies, who was hit for two successive sixes in his first over, to finish with four for 12 after claiming the last three Cleckheaton wickets in three balls.
Cleckheaton, despite 33 from Ian Wardlaw, were bowled out for 97 in reply to an East Bierley total of 183 all out. Lee Goddard (45), Paul Hutchison (44) and Greg Wood (32) were the top scorers for East Bierley while leg spinner Tom Pringle (5-32) produced the second best bowling analysis in the competition for Cleckheaton.
East Bierley are four points ahead of Hartshead Moor with Lightcliffe, seven wicket winner over Brighouse a point further adrift. Brighouse were dismissed for just 41 and Lightcliffe knocked off the runs for the loss of three wickets.
Group Three is proving to be higly competitive. Bankfoot, Hanging Heaton are all level on 12 points. Bankfoot, who beat Hanging Heaton by 57 runs, head the table on runs difference.
Bankfoot ran up 210-4 as they ended Hanging Heaton's unbeaten record. John Barton smashed a rapid 80 while Marcus Walmsley (73) and Greg Fotheringam (33) as Bankfoot dominated the bowling. Hanging Heaton struggled in reply and despite 36 from James Byrne were dismissed for 153 as Nigel Hanson took three for 20.
Gomersal recorded their third successive win, but only just, as they edged home by three wickets at Morley with a ball to spare. Morley's total of 109 all out looked below par, but Gomersal struggled to overhaul it. Skipper Richard Whitehurst (21) and Liam Frant (19) did most to edge Gomersal home.
Group One leaders Pudsey St Lawrence also had a close scrape. Replying to an Idle score of 98-7, they only had one ball left when they secured a three-wicket win. Tom Hanley was the player who did most to ensure they won the game by scoring 37 despite the efforts of Andy Kemp (3-13).
Jamaican Lorenzo Inghram continued his good form in the competition by making 49not out as second-placed Farsley eased to a nine-wicket win over Manningham Mills. He gave good support to Gareth Perkins (55) as Farsley overcame a score of 130 which owed much to an unbeaten 47 from Zaffar Mahmood.
