Cleackheaton skipper John Wood, the former Durham and Lancashire pace bowler, produced a fiery opening burst which looked to have put his side in command.

But Undercliffe showed they have batting strength in depth as first Farakh Hussain (31) and Shafiq Choudhry steadied the ship with a fifth-wicket stand of 59.

Choudhry, a Worcestershire trialist, impressed as he continued the revival in partnership with overseas player Nawaz Sardar. They put on 92 before Choudhry departed for a fine 87.

Sardar went on to make a robust 62 with five sixes and four fours as Undercliffe made 233 all out. John Wood (4-41) was the pick of the bowlers.

Cleckheaton started their reply well with Marcus Walmsley making 41 out of an opening stand of 68 with Mark Cummins but the complexion of the game changed once the Undercliffe spinners were introduced.

Skipper Chris Greenwood (4-44), Ashley Metcalfe (3-29), and Choudhry 3-38) turned the game in their side's favour as only Ian Nicholson with a patient 50, countered the threat they posed. Cleckheaton were dismissed with an over to go for 209.

The second and third placed clubs, Pudsey Congs and Pudsey St Lawrence also collected maximum points. Congs defeated Saltaire by 177 runs while St Lawrence beat Yeadon by 89 runs.

The Congs batsmen again provided the platform for victory as they compiled a challenging score of 279-6. Adam Patel led the way with an unbeaten 100 which was laced with seven sixes and 11 fours. Andy Siddal (60) and Gareth Phillips (52) also made the Saltaire attack suffer.

Relegation-threatened Saltaire soon hit trouble when they replied and were bowled our for 102 as all five bowlers used by Congs picked up two wickets each.

Pudsey St Lawrence skipper James Smith produced the innings of the day. He made 153 not out at Yeadon as his side made 277-2. Smith struck seven sixes and 15 fours and shared in an unbroken third-wicket stand of 185 with Gareth Clough (55no).

Sri Lankan professional Tharanga De Silva made 54 as Yeadon were bowled out for 188 as Ales Stead took four for 31 and Steve Watts (3-75).

There was another run feast at Gomersal. For once it was the home side who topped the 300 mark, making 320-2 as they beat bottom-team Bankfoot by just 28 runs.

Opener Richard Gould confirmed his return to form with a superb innings of 117 which contained two sixes and 17 fours. Gould shared in an opening stand of 141 with teenage batsman Andy Gorrod (55) and a second-wicket partnership of 107 with Greg Pickles who made his best score for the club of 86 not out.

Skipper Richard Whitehurst gave a final flourish to the innings with an unbeaten 46 off just 15 balls with contained five sixes and three fours.

Bankfoot may be without a win this season but they made a spirited effort to chase Gomersal's big total. The man responsible for keeping them in the hunt was Greg Fotheringham. He stroked three sixes and 15 fours in a magnificent innings of 125, and while he was at the wicket Bankfoot had a fighting chance.

Whitehurst followed up his batting exploits by taking four for 62 to ensure Bankfoot didn't get to their mammoth target. They finished on 292-7.

Bankfoot have just 38 points and are already 36 behind Yeadon and a further two adrift of Saltaire.

The brittle Woodlands batting was exposed once again as they suffered a 60-run defeat at Bradford & Bingley. Woodlands were dismissed for 136 as David Clow (3-24), Richard McCarthy (3-31) and Matthew Cockshott (3-42) did the damage. Skipper Pieter Swanepoel offered the only defiance with 38.

Bradford & Bingley recovered from a shaky start to post a total of 196-8 as Chris Thompson made 68. Again the best of the Woodlands bowlers were Safraz Ahmed (3-31) and Chris Brice (3-32)

Champions Baildon collected a much-needed win and a maximum 20 points as they defeated Farsley by six wickets at Red Lane. Young Kiwi Shane Gadsdon made his highest score for Baildon of 96, while skipper Ian Philliskirk made an unbeaten 50 and Simon Webb (40) as they cruised past a Farsley score of 225 all out.

Left-arm spinner Mushtaq Ahmed marked his return after injury by taking three for 54, but the bowling honours went to Andy Walker (5-52). David Syers (73), Lorenzo Ingram (43) and Shabbir Rashid (41) provided the bulk of the Farsley runs

Division Two

Hanging Heaton's Haroon Rashid made a fine century as his side secured a two-wicket win over third-placed Bowling Old Lane to retain a healthy 32-point lead at the halfway point in the season.

Four sixes and 11 fours flowed from Rashid's bat as he and Nick Bresnan (45) guided their side to their victory target despite the determined efforts of Khurram Maqsood (5-48).

Old Lane had set what looked a stiff target when they made 244-7. Rashid Ramzan led the way with 82 and skipper Amjid Khan provided some late fireworks by taking 30 from the last over of the innings by Harvey Anderson to finnish with 49 not out. During those last six balls he hit four sixes, a four and a two.

Jonathan Gould made the highest individual score in Division Two. The Hartshead Moor all-rounder made a career-best 143 as he helped his fourth-placed team to beat Idle by 115 runs.

Gould struck a six and 23 fours and shared in a fourth-wicket stand of 214 with the impressive young Australian Tom Manvell who made 80.

Hartshead Moor's total of 275-6 was always going to be too many for lowly Idle to pursue and they played out their 50 overs to finish on 160-7 with Simon Curry making 64 and Mohammad Zaffer (47no). Opening bowler Joel Pollard took three for 25 for Hartshead Moor.

Chris Taylor fifth century of the season helped second-placed Lightcliffe to maintain their promotion push with a 71-run win over Brighouse. Taylor stroked 12 boundaries as he helped his side to compile a total of 261-7. Michael Brooke (34) and James Horne (30) added useful contributions.

Spen Victoria recorded their third win in four matches as they chased down a Windhill total of 261-9 to record a seven-wicket victory. Young opener Matthew West - with a career best 97 - and hard-hitting Adam Brown (70no) were helped by Tosh Baker (41) as Spen got home with 4.3 overs to spare.

Windhill's total of 261-9 was built around a fine innings of 133 from Ahsan Butt. The former Baildon all-round hit four sixes and ten fours and was supported by Sajid Hussain (44). Dan Abbott (5-58) and Tosh Baker (4-71) were the best of the Spen bowlers.

Manningham Mills's overseas player Ravi Teja hit a maiden Bradford League century as he helped them to defeat Keighley by 137 runs. Teja struck five sixes and 13 fours as he dominated the home bowlers.

Teja shared in an opening stand of 138 with Amjid Hussain (48) while Iqbal Khan made an unbeaten 44 to swell the Mills total to 281-6. Keighley soon hit trouble in reply and with Zeeshan Qasim taking five for 41 they were dismissed for 144.

Morley picked up a welcome win against a Great Horton side still waiting for its first victory. A total of 196-8 built around scored of 72 not out from Khalid Mahmood and 45 from Junaid Bashir, offered some home, but Morley had other ideas. Adam Larkin (61) and Michael Cooper (48) steered them to a five-wicket triumph.
