Division One

East Bierley's second-wicket pair of Lee Goddard and Gavin Hamilton smashed one of the JCT 600 Bradford League's oldest records as they helped their side to defeat Saltaire by 168 runs.

Goddard (155no) and Hamilton (127no) put on 295 to beat the previous best of 270 which was set by Bingley's H Briggs (125no) and H Firth (142) which was set 85 years ago in 1925.

Derbyshire wicketkeeper Goddard struck five sixes and 18 fours while Scotland skipper Hamilton stroked three sixes and 18 fours as they helped their side to a mammoth 309-1.

Saltaire's bowlers wilted under the onslaught and their batsmen also found the going tough as they were dismissed for 141. Spinners Luke Jarvis (4-35) and Greg Wood (4-46) did the damage as only Waleed Akhtar (34) and George Hicks (34) made any impression for a Saltaire side fighting to avoid the relegation places.

With Woodlands having a free day, Pudsey St Lawrence seized their chance to retake the leadership with a comfortable six-wicket win over Bankfoot.

Off spinner Chris Marsden took five for 56 as Bankfoot were restricted to 194-9. It had looked for a while that Bankfoot would make a much bigger score thanks to the good work of Greg Fotheringham (53) and John Barton (31).

St Lawrence eased to their target with 9.5 overs to spare thanks to a fine innings of 87 from opener Mark Robertshaw. He hit two sixes and 14 fours.

The result gives St Lawrence a nine point lead over Undercliffe who suffered their third defeat of the season at Farsley by three wickets

Despite a determined knock of 56 from former Farsley stalwart Ashley Metcalfe, Undercliffe were bowled out for 168 as Yorkshire's James Lee (4-56) and Leeds/Bradford Universities player Bradley Kruger (4-39) kept the batsmen under pressure.

Farsley were indebted to West Indian all-rounder Lorenzo Ingram (54) and Tom Slater (43) for ensuring they reached their target. Undercliffe's best bowler was overseas seamer Nawaz Sardar (4-38).

There was a thrilling game at Moorend where champions Baildon and Cleckheaton fought out a tie.

Clekheaton needed six runs from the final over with two wickets in hand to overhaul Baildon's score of 208 all out, but could only manage five as Craig Hitchenor (5-25) capped a controlled spell of bowling.

Ian Wood took a single from the first ball of the 50th over and after no runs came from the second delivery, Ian Wardlaw was caught by Harry Smallwood from the third ball.

Another single to Wood put last man Jamie Robinson on strike and he hit a two to leave two runs needed from the final ball of the match. Unfortunately for Cleckheaton he was unable to connect but the batsmen did scramble a bye.

Young all-rounder Edward Walmsley again impressed for Cleckheaton by making 54 and taking three for 24.

James Davies (Bradford & Bingley)

Earlier, Jonathan Reynolds (81) and skipper Ian Philliskirk (62) revived Baildon side after they had slipped to 15-3.

If it runs you want to see there is no better place to go than Gomersal. Bradford & Bingley became the third side to top over 300 runs at Oxford Road, following in the footsteps of Pudsey Congs and Woodlands as they recorded a 63 run win.

Bradford & Bingley, who at one time were 13-2, were revived by some excellent middle order batting. Young Sri Lankan Naweed Ghany set the tone with 55, and his efforts were built on by Matthew Duce (76), Phil Slater (58) and Chris Thompson (52) as Bradford & Bingley reached 303-6

Gomersal, who are trying to pull away from the relegation zone, collapsed after a promising start against the excellent bowling of James Davies (5-25). They slumped to 84-6 before some rousing batting from Shahzaib Khan (60), skipper Richard Whitehurst (47), Matthew Garside (28) and last man Nasser Hussain (24no) swelled the total to 240 and earned maximum batting points

If wickets and low-scoring games are what you prefer then Yeadon has certainly served up some nerve-wracking encounters this season.

The match with Pudsey Congs was no exception with the visitors finally winning by four-wickets but not without a few scares. Eugene Burzler (30no) steered them past Yeadon's total of 116, after they had collapsed to 76-6 as off spinner Grant Soames took three for 17. Soames had earlier made a defiant 40, but lacked support as Yeadon faltered. Mark Bray was the pick of the Congs bowlers with three for 27.

  Division Two

Hanging Heaton continue to set the pace after an emphatic 120-run win over promotion hopefuls Hartshead Moor.

New-signing Imran Dawood, who has joined from Liversedge, made 46 on his debut and was supported by James Stansfield (39), Harvey Anderson (35), Rob McFarlane (31) and Alan Mynett (30), as Hanging Heaton made 229 despite the fine efforts of off spinner Jonathan Gould (5-41).

Skipper Jonathan Wilson led by example with a fine 90 as Lightcliffe made 249-8 before restricting Keighley to 189.

Bowling Old Lane are now third after a resounding six-wicket win at Great Horton.

Old lane skipper Amjid Khan (4-23, Mohammad Nassir (3-2) and Khurram Maqsood (3-22) dismissed Great Horton for just 70. Old Lane reached their victory target in just 11 overs.

Windhill's Umar Abbas took six for 44 but ended up on the losing side as his team went down by 53 runs to Manningham Mills. His efforts enabled Windhill to bowl out Mills for 142, but Windhill were dismissed for just 89 in reply. Zeeshan Qasim put in another fine performance for Mills making 37 and taking four for 36.

All-rounders Will Smith and Tosh Baker secured a second-successive win for Spen Victoria. Smith took four for 38 with his off spin and followed up with an unbeaten 53 while Baker took three for 27 and hit 45 as Spen restricted Idle to 155-8 before easing home by four wickets. Nissar Choudhry (46no) was the best of the Idle batsmen.

Opening bowlers James Russell (4-28) and Nathan Bromby (4-38) set up Morley's four-wicket win over Brighouse. The visitors, despite a defiant 62 from skipper Mark Cummins, were bowled out for 143. Danny Lloyd (37) and Adam larkin (31no) helped ensure that Morley reached their victory target.
