After being dismissed for 70 and 82 in their previous two matches, they will at least have been relieved to feature in a high-scoring encounter, although losing by just six runs will have been a bitter pill to swallow.
Farsley batted first and made 238-5 with Barrie Frankland making a superb 105. James Higgins was the other main contributor with 42.
St Lawrence made a bold bid to go for the runs but were dismissed for 232 as Ryan Lumb took five for 68.
Skipper James Milligan (53), Chris Hester (47) and Andy Parratt (40) were their top scorers.
Hanging Heaton moved into third place after securing a maximum 20 points for their 186-run win over Pudsey Congs.
Michael Royce led the run spree with 93 while Dave Lawrence (52), Michael Smith (47) and James Byrne (35) all made important contributions as Hanging Heaton declared on 308-6 after 46.2 overs. Callum Oliver was the most successful bowler with three for 70.
That gave them an extra three overs to bowl out their opponents but they only needed 35 as Congs were dismissed for 122 with Chris Goodaire taking five for 23.
