Wrenthorpe secured a record-equalling fourth-successive Solly Sports Heavy Woollen Cup final win as they crushed Hanging Heaton by 199-runs at Bennett Lane.
Their victory was every bit as convincing as the scoreline suggests and after matching the four straight wins of Dewsbury Saville from 1887-1890, they set their sights on a fifth win next season.
Few would bet against them after seeing the way they dominated today's match. From the moment skipper Gary Fellows won the toss and elected to bat, Wrenthorpe were in control.
Hanging Heaton's delight at removing Fellows for 18 - his lowest score in this season's competition - proved to be an isolated bright spot.
Fellows was trapped lbw by Nick Bresnan with the total on 46, but his departure didn't disturb the concentration of his opening partner Eric Austin.
The left-hander, who made a century when they won their first Heavy Woollen Cup on the same ground in 2007, looked as if he might repeat the feat.
Austin reached his half-century off 70 balls and shared a second-wicket stand of 106 with David Paynter.
The partnership was finally broken when former Yorkshire leg spinner Mark Lawson, the most impressive of the Hanging Heaton bowlers, trapped Austin lbw for 66. His innings contained 12 fours and had put his side in a strong position at 152-2.
Paynter was the next to go after an attractive innings of 53. He was caught by John Carruthers to give Lawson his second wicket.
When Lawson dismissed Bradley Parker in similar fashion for six during an excellent ten over spell which earned him figures of 3-31, it looked as if Hanging Heaton were fighting back.
Wrenthorpe were 197-5 when Nick Bresnan bowled Alex Sharp for 12, but that was as good as it got for Hanging Heaton.
Barry McCormack smashed 41 from 25 balls and Luke Patel (31) made quick runs as Hanging Heaton's bowlers failed to exert any control once Lawson was out of the attack.
Joe Ellis, who smashed a 17-ball half-century for Barnsley against Wrenthorpe in the 2008 final - weighed in with 24 as Wrenthorpe reached 298-9 in their 50 overs.
Hanging Heaton skipper Carruthers picked up three late wickets but they cost him 79 runs. He bore the brunt of a late assault which produced 53 runs in the last four overs.
If Hanging Heaton were to challenge Wrenthorpe's daunting total they needed a rapid start and they sent in big-hitting Ryan Senior to open in the hope he could take advantage of the fielding restrictions.
Senior blasted one six but departed for 11 when he lobbed a catch to Parker off the bowling of Ellis.
His departure was to trigger a procession which saw Hanging Heaton dismised for 99 in 26.3 overs.
Tom Glover, who bowled his ten overs unchanged, took 4-54, while Ellis took 2-24 in six overs.
Skipper Fellows sealed the victory by removing the last three wickets at a personal cost of five runs in 3,3 overs.
James Stansfield (22) was the top scorer in a distinctly disappointing Hanging Heaton innings.
It was disappointing for the sizeable crowd that Hanging Heaton had been unable to make more of a fight of it, but they would be the first to admit that Wrenthorpe are a formidable force.
Paynter was named man of the match for his 53 and four catches, but he would be the first to acknowledge the contributions of Austin and Glover in another great team effort.
