East Bierley and Pudsey Congs look eager to regain the Division One status they lost last season.

East Bierley lead the way after taking their points tally to 134 with an 85-run win over a Saltaire side who set the early pace in Division Two.

But Pudsey Congs are just 13 points behind after moving into second place with a three-wicket win over Great Horton.

East Bierley's batsmen set up their latest win with James Petty (79no), Liam Walsh (74) amd John Davis (62) taking their side to a total of 276 all out despite the efforts of Mick Robinson (5-48).

There were half centuries for Govinder Bargota 951no) and Michael Thornton (50) but Saltaire finished on 191-8 - well short of their victory target as East Bierley skipper Matthew Anderson took 3-26.

Skipper Callum Oliver hit a splendid 108 as Pudsey Congs scored a three-wicket win at Great Horton. Thanks to Oliver, who hit two sixes and 19 fours, Congs overhauled the Great Horton score of 205 which included a fine 99 from Jamil Akthar. Richie Lamb was again the pick of the bowlers with 5-76.

Former New Zealand Test player Tony Blain was unbeaten on 73 as Gomersal romped to a nine-wicket win over the nine-men of Brighouse. John Potkins (40) was the top scorer in the Brighouse score of 116.

Paceman Ahsan Zia took 6-17 as Cleckheaton dismissed Keighley for 144 to secure a 123-run win. Earlier Shaid Rehman (52), Rob Brown (45), Chris Dobson (37) and Craig Blackburn (36) helped their side to 267 all out.

Ahtsham Jubbar top scored with 52 as Mills were dismissed for 120 in reply to an Idle total of 177-8 which included 63 from Mushy Shah.
