Farsley are crowned as champions

Division One

 

Farsley were crowned as league champions after they completed a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Windhill.

Robert Thornton took 4-40 as the eight men of Windhill were bowled out for 120 despite a battling 58 not out from Khuram Rasheed.

Farsley wasted no time in knocking off the runs in starting their celebrations. Ross Monaghan and Matthew Green were both unbeaten on 55 when victory was achieved.

Farsley finished six points ahead on Yeadon who signed off with a fine five-wicket win at Pudsey St Lawrence.

The Machell brothers were to the fore once again. Paul took 5-32 as St Lawrence were bowled out for 200. Then Darren hit an unbeaten 68 and Dave (40) as Yeadon eased to their target. For St Lawrence, Phil Wilson made 45, Josh Smith (41) and Chris Sharkey (35).

Woodlands secured third place and condemned Bradford & bingley to relegation as they ran out seven wicket winners at Albert terrace.

Adam Goldthorpe (53no), Zahir Hussain (50) and Adam Wood (50) guided their side past the Bradford & Bingley score of 194-4 which included a fine 96 from Carl Sharp and 45 ny Adam Swallow.

The 2010 champions Baildon finished their campaign with a five-wicket win over Lightcliffe which enabled them to finish fourth,

Mamoon Rashid (4-15) and Brett Kinsey (3-18) bowled out Lightcliffe for 118, then Baildon eased to victory with Intizar Mahmood hitting an unbeaten 53.

Last season's Division two champions Hartshead Moor rounded off a satisfactory campaign with a five-wicket win at Hanging Heaton.

Opener Nicky Ward hit 129 from 130 balls as Hartshead Moor chased down a Hanging heaton score of 249. Ward struck two sixes and 19 fours and was well supported in a second-wicket stand of 150 by Mick Baldwin (43).

Chris Goodaire top scored with 76 in the Hanging Heaton ) helped boost the score as Jeff Wind (4-48) and James Hardcastle (3-23) emerged as the best of the Hartshead Moor bowlers.

Saqib Asghar took 5-32 as Bowling Old Lane dismissed Morley for 120 on their way to a four-wicket win. Ehsan Ghani (42no) and Sajjid Khan (35) steered their side to victory despite the efforts of young spinner Jerome Austin (4-22).

Division Two

Gomersal have been confirmed as champions but who goes up with them will not be decided until after today's final round of matches.

It all looked so easy when Gomersal skittled out Idle for just 61 with Chris Rhodes taking 4-6 and Ryan Kitson(3-16).

Bur Dave Pearce (5-27) exploited the helpful bowling conditions and Gomersal lost six wickets reaching their target. Craig Lightowler led the way with 34.

With East Bierley not playing Pudsey Congs seized their chance to take over in second place with a two-wicket win over Keighley.

Congs are seven points ahead of East Bierley and Saltaire who defeated Spen Victoria by 64 runs to keep their hopes alive.

All three of the promotion chasers are away in their final game. Saltaire are at Gomersal, East Bierley visit Idle and Pudsey Congs go to Manningham Mills,

Imran Ahmed (63no) and Ashley Slater (58) led the way as Congs chased down a Keighley score of 193-5 with five balls to spare. Paul Wilkinson (78) and Scott Hartley (36) provided the bulk of Keighley's runs.

Saltaire maintained their late push for promotion by making 170 and then bowling out Spen Victoria for 106. Mick Robinson (56) and Mohammed Allah (34) led the way with the bat while Ravi Prasad took 3-16 with the ball.

Undercliffe's batsmen were in good form as they defeated Brighouse by nine wickets. Adnan Shafiq made an unbeaten 78 while Liam Brearley hit (44) and Phil Dixon (32no) as they raced to a nine-wicket win.

Jamil Akhtar took 5-27 as Great Horton bowled out Manningham Mills for 88. Zubir Ashraf then made 36 and Mohammed Akbar (32) as Great Horton eased to a seven-wicket win.

Jai Mistry hit an unbeaten 53 as Cleckheaton defeated Bankfoot by five wickets. Jack Medley took 4-22 for Bankfoot but couldn't save his side from defeat. Their total of 139 proved inadequate as Shahid Rehman took 4-22. Myles Robinson was top scorer for Bankfoot with 34.
