Bottom two are unanimously re-elected for 2012

 

 

Brighouse and Windhill have been unanimously re-elected to the JCT600 Bradford League for 2012.

Their 23 fellow clubs gave their backing to Division Two's bottom two at Thursday's Rules Revision Meeting.

Ten proposals for rule changes were seconded and will now go forward to the annual meeting at Pudsey Congs on November 17.

The proposals cover changes to the composition of the management board, start times, registration, the points system, introduction of leg side wides and an extension to the time allowed to bowl 50 overs.

Proposed by Bradford & Bingley: Rule 2 – Management Board
“The League shall be governed by a Management Board consisting of 12 persons. The President, Chairman. CEO, Treasurer and Secretary (the Officials), together with three club representatives, 2 active players,1 Umpires representative and 1 appointee with PR and Marketing skills. herein known as (The Management Board.)”

Proposed by Pudsey Congs: Rule 8 - League Season
All matches shall start at 1pm with the exception of those in September which will commence at noon.

Proposed by Management Board: Rule 19 - Registration of Players
All players must complete and sign a copy of the league registration form which is retained by their club. Those players over the age of 18 on August 31, in the year prior to the current season must also supply a recent photograph of themselves. The club will then submit an application for registration on-line on the www.playerreg.co.uk website. Once the registration has been approved the players name, picture and registration number will be displayed on the site.
It is each club’s responsibility to ensure that all registrations & transfers are bona fide.
Senior
Players can be added to a club's list at any time up to July 31 in each season. A club’s bona-fide juniors may be added at any time. The deadline for new players to play in a weekend's matches is midnight on the Thursday immediately preceding the fixtures. 
A club playing an unregistered player shall be liable to a penalty to be determined by the Management Board.
Clubs engaging players not having played for them the previous season must forward a correctly completed YCB/YCA player transfer form or section B of the league registration form to the Chief executive before such registration will be accepted. The transfer form can be scanned and attached to the on line registration as a pdf, or delivered to the Chief Executive by post or by hand. A club shall not register a player from another club outside the league for occasional matches only.

Proposed by Management Board: Rule 21 - New Players
No new player shall take part in the concluding matches of season unless he is registered on or before July 31. All players properly registered before this date may play at any time.

Proposed by Management Board: Rule 22 - Overseas Players 
In accordance with current ECB qualifications as interpreted by the Management Board
No club will be allowed to register more than one overseas player in a season. Overseas player will be allowed to register after the scheduled commencement of the season These players must play one game prior to July 31. An overseas player is considered to be a cricketer not qualified to play for England under the current ECB regulations.

Proposed by Management Board: Rule 23 - Players Playing Outside the League
Players contracted to play cricket outside the JCT 600 Bradford Cricket League with a Country, County or Minor Counties club may be allowed to play in the league as long as they are registered as a player at the start of the season and play one game before July 31.

Proposed by East Bierley: Rule 33 -  Overs & Over Rate
50 Overs must be bowled in 3 hours 20 minutes.

Pudsey Congs: Rule 36 - Championship Points
Win 20 points
“If a team is bowled out for 70 then the bowling team should receive 5 bowling points and any batting points not earned by the batting side (in this case 5 points) assuming the side wins they would earn 10 for the win +5 for the bowling + 5 batting points not earned by the team who batted first.”

Woodlands:  Rule 36 – Championship Points
Win  -  20 points with NO bonus points.
Tie (Scores level)  -  5 points each + bonus points.
Loss  -  0 points ,bonus points apply.
Abandoned match – no play 5 points to each side.
Abandoned/Incomplete match  - play commenced, no win achieved,  - 5 points to each side + bonus points
Bonus points remain as at present.

Management Board on behalf of the captains: New rule: Wide balls
Introduce leg side wides to 1st XI League cricket together with pitch marking (both off & leg side to assist umpires in their judgement.)
