Gomersal win rematch of 2005 final

Gomersal won the repeat of the 2005 Crowther Cup final by defeating Scholes of the Huddersfield League by six wickets in their first round clash.

Mick Baldwin, who made a match-winning century when the sides last met, hit 42 and along with Umar Salim (54) guided Gomersal past the Scholes total of 127 all out for the loss of just four wickets. Alan Sumner took four for 27 for Gomersal.

There was a thrilling finish to the all Bradford League clash between Hanging Heaton and Manningham Mills. Hanging Heaton, who were bowled out for 130, looked to be on course for victory when they reduced their rivals to 84 for eight, but Mills had other ideas.

Tariq Malik (42) and last man Rashid (39no) steered their side to a thrilling one-wicket win. The victory was sealed with an unbrokenm last-wicket stand of 32. Peter Byrne (4-15) bowled well for Hanging heaton as did Mick Horner (3-24)
