HW5 Draws, Ties and Match Finances

A The dates for the rounds for the following season shall be fixed by the Management and advised to all clubs at the AGM.

B The draws for all rounds shall be made by the Management and advised to all clubs.

C All 64 members, irrespective of any shortfall below the maximum number, shall be used in the first round draw. A separate draw will take place for the Crowther Cup of the clubs entering second teams. Ties shall be played on the ground of the club drawn first from the pairing. Where any shortfall occurs should any pairing contain a vacant number the club shall receive a bye. Should two vacant numbers be drawn together, the second number shall be returned to the bag and redrawn. If this should occur with the last tie drawn, the two clubs from the previous pairing should both receive byes. In all other rounds, except the final or in any emergency situation, ties shall be played on the ground of the first club in each pairing.

D All ties shall be played on Sunday dates, arranged by the Management. Play in all rounds shall commence at 1pm. Weather permitting ties shall be played as scheduled irrespective of any club commitments. In rounds one, two and three the following rules apply. If a match has commenced and is not completed due to interference by the weather on the agreed date and the first innings is completed with the side batting second not being bowled out, achieving a winning score or completing its allocated overs the match will be decided as follows:- Providing the side batting second has completed a minimum of 15 overs (provided the minimum of overs exceeds 15) the winning side will be the one scoring the greater number of runs in the equivalent number of overs for each side. If the scores are level at this point the winning one will be the team losing the least wickets in that period. Should the scores still be equal the comparison will be carried out one over earlier and so on until a winner is confirmed. If the side batting second had not completed 15 overs then a bowl out will take place with five bowlers from each team bowling one ball at three stumps. In a bowl out the wicketkeeper must stand back (at least five yards). Also the ball delivered over arm by the bowler must be a fair delivery and pitch in front of the popping crease for it to count as a legal delivery. If the scores are still level after the first set of five bowlers have bowled then it becomes sudden death using the same five bowlers in the same order. The umpires will arrange a suitable site for this to take place and will oversee the bowl out. In rain affected matches play must cease at 7pm . If no result is available from the amount of cricket played then the bowl out takes place. If no play is possible at all due to the weather conditions both teams mat agree to rearrange the game if this is possible. If not possible a bowl-out can take place following the same rules as above. NOTE: For rounds four and semi-finals matches will have to be rearranged with the Fixture Secretary.

E In the event of the ground on which the tie is due to be played is so unfit that play is unlikely in the forseeable future the secretary shall be contacted and the Management shall decide upon the playing of the tie.

F Each competing club shall bear equally the expenses of any tie except the final. Expenses shall include the cost of advertising, gatemen and umpires. Any profit occurring shall likewise be shared equally between the clubs concerned.
