On one of the few occasions this season that Idle have won the toss they chose too put Mills in to bat.
The wicketl ooked as if it could help the bowlers and Idle were rewarded with a wicket in the first over.
From then on it went a bit flat and after 11 overs there were 62 runs on the board. A change of attack appeared top work. Slow bowlers Neil Johnson and Graham Dobson pulled things back to and in the next 30 overs five wickets fell for only 100 runs
With their allotted overs bowled Gareth Teasdale came back into the attack and cleaned up the tail, with Paul Howker chipping in with the last wicket.
In reply Idle started steadily before Gavin Lyons was dismissed for 12. There was a partnership of 73 between Dobson (50) and Mick Birts (25), which left the game very evenly balanced but then a famous Idle collapse set in.
From being 109-1 they plunged to134-7. The points looked to be going to Mills but a rally at the end and a fine partnership of 40 between Howker (37) and Nicky Hardaker (18) nearly won the game, unfortunately, Idle finished two runbs adrift of their rivals.
