This match was a debacle from the start, being played on the outfield which the previous day had been under water.
The wicket was not fit for 11 a side cricket with two boundaries just over 20 yards from the wicket and bowlers getting away with bouncing the ball three or four times before it reached the batsman. This was never going to be a game for the purists.
Bingley won the toss and decided to bat and following two of their players, retiring after scoring 25 each,. Bingley reached a respectable total of 96 for 5 off their 20 overs.
In reply, Idle lost their first two wickets with only five runs on the board. The team rallied, but was always slightly behind the asking rate.
A fine knock of 25 by G Wilkinson (retired) and 23 by R Misra brought the game back into Idle's reach. But unfortunately, requiring four from the last over could only manage two so Bradford and Bingley won by one run.
