Skipper leads from the front
Posted: May 2, 2007
Idle's newly formed under 17's side got their season off to a remarkable start with an opening day victory over Windhill at Busy Lane .
Skipper Nicky Hardaker led the way with his first fifty for the under 17s and with all his partners kept the scoreboard ticking over and posted a very useful 102-5.
In reply the Idle attack was very impressive taking wickets on a regular basis with Matthew Marshall leading the attack with a mixture of swing and excellent slower deliveries and then young Andrew Kemp from the clubs under 13's side found himself ripping out the middle order with three quick wickets.
A very good start and skipper Nicky Hardaker led well from the front and next is a tricky derby fixture against Hepworth / Idle at home next week.
