DAN THE MAN SHOWS HIS CLASS
Posted 30th April 2007
A superb chanceless 118 from Dan Shuffe sealed a fantastic win for the hosts in this thrilling encounter.
In good conditions Bradford & Bingley skipper Carl Sharp won the toss and elected to bat and after a couple of early wickets fell his side were guided to a formidable total of 248 by an excellent century from Phil Slater whose 133 although containing some fortune provided the backbone to a huge run chase for the hosts.
In reply Idle lost the early wickets of openers Harvey Anderson and Javid Umarji but then a partnership of 126 between Paul Cummins and the afore mentioned hero of the day Dan Shuffe set the foundations for the rest of the side to finish off what was an excellent run chase and rewarded the hosts with a very useful 18 point haul.
Idle’s new overseas recruit Dilhara Lokuhettige opened his wickets account with 4-58 and also looked the part with the bat before succumbing to a very good slower delivery from Phil Slater. |
