Mills are sent spinning as Idle march on

After losing to eventual winners Barnsley in last year's Solly Sports Heavy Woollen Cup semi-final, Idle got off to a winning start in a tricky away tie at Manningham Mills.
Manningham won the toss and asked Idle to bat and in between a rain interruption they made a steady progression to a respectable total of 217 with valuable contributions from Paul Cummins (71) Imran Dawood (35) and Neil Nicholson (39).
In the second innings opening bowlers Michael Allen and Greg Colehan got Idle off to a good start sharing three wickets and then some quality spin bowling from Paul Cummins (2-22) and Harvey Anderson (3-31 ) created a steady procession of wickets and despite some big hitting from the Manningham tail the hosts were bowled out for 180.
