Doidge puts Idle in a spin

Idle got their JCT600 league campaign off to a terrible start after a heavy defeat at Pudsey St Lawrence by eight wickets.

They were going along well with two excellent partnerships between Javid Umarji who made a positive 86 and Paul Cummins (40) and then with Dan Shuffe (31) before Pudsey skipper Andrew Doidge took a hat-trick and took away the impetus. After the innings faded away and they finished on a disappointing 215.

Pudsey then got off to a very positive start and after a few very good appeals for lbw's against their opening pair the partnership was broken by Paul Cummins deflecting the ball on to the stumps to run out their overseas batsmen Tom Stray.
