IDLE OVERPOWERED BY CHAMPIONS

Idle suffered a big loss at the hands of defending champions Woodlands in a game where the toss was crucial. Skipper Steve Thompson lost the toss and Idle were inserted on a seamer friendly wicket and the excellent opening pair of Safraz Ahmed and Peter Swanepoel used the conditions to their maximum and left the home side reeling at 29-7 and only a gutsy partnership of 35 between skipper Thompson and Andrew Marshall plus a huge six from Greg Colehan gave the side a total of 88.
Safraz claimed 5-43 and Swanepoel 4-32 in one of the best displays of seam bowling of the season.
In reply Scott Richardson got Woodlands off to a strong start and very soon the required runs were easily knocked off despite Greg Colehan once again giving a whole hearted performance taking two wickets to give the home side their only point of the day.
