Earl lords it as Halifax dent Bradford’s hopes

  Bradford suffered a two-wicket defeat in the opening Joe Lumb Competition match at East Bierley.

They were given a solid start by openers Fahid Rehman (85) and Tom Dalton (70), which Ben Brown (37) and Tom Slater (31not out) built on before a late collapse saw Bradford  bowled out for 253.

It was a total they were unable to defend as opener T Earl made a splendid 105 to speed Halifax to their total with 6.2 overs to spare.

Joe Greaves, Kasir Maroof and Rehman each took two wickets, but their efforts weren’t enough to spare Bradford from a disappointing defeat.
