It's Cleckheaton v Pudsey Congs in this season's Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup final at the Britannia Ground on Sunday, August 26.
Cleckheaton reached their first final when they defeated last season's beaten finalists Bowling Old Lane by 98 runs, while Pudsey Congs made it to their sixth final in 14 seasons when they beat Baildon by 17 runs at Jenny Lane.
Cleckheaton, who had never previously reached the semi-finals, were led from the front by their skipper John Wood. He struck a decisive 52 when his side were struggling to gain impetus in their innings and followed up with a hostile spell of fast bowling in which he conceded only two runs in five overs.
His bowling brought back memories of 1990, when, as a young paceman, Wood took the Man of the Match honours as Spen Victoria defeated Pudsey St Lawrence in the 1990 final.
Seventeen years on Wood will now be bidding for a second winners medal and his young side showed in brushing Bowling Od Lane aside that they see this as a golden opportunity to win their first major silverware.
Cleckheaton's total of 189-7 was hard-earned. Spinners Shoaib Khan (0-24) in ten overs and Khalid Rehman (1-39) in nine overs bowled tightly, but couldn't prevent the visitors from posting a challenging score.
Reece Jowett (36) justified his promotion to opener but it was skipper Wood who provided the impetus for the innings as he hit three sixes and three fours. Old Lane paid dearly for some sloppy fielding, Wood was dropped by both Raqeeb Younis and Fahid Rehman in the deep.
Old Lane never looked like threatening the Cleckheaton score as they struggled against an impressive opening ten over burst from Craig Wiseman who took three for 22.
Wood's five over burst softened up the Old Lane batsmen before spinner Mohammad Zaman wrapped up the innings with four for 14. Old Lane were dismissed for 91. The bowlers were backed up by some excellent catching. The best was a remarkable reflex effort by Tom Pringle at square leg to dismiss top scorer Raqeeb Younis.
Pudsey Congs had their wily former skipper Matthew Doidge to thank for their narrow win at Baildon. Doidge, as he has done so often over the years, rescued his side from a periless position and took them to one of strength with a 41-ball half-century. When he was eventually dismissed for 52 he had hit one six and six fours.
Congs had made a disastrous start to their innings. They plunged to 10-3 before Andrew Bairstow (36) and skipper Babar Butt (32) steadied the ship. Doidge built on their work with his fine half-century and Tom Glover blasted a rapid 39not out to swell the total to 214-8.
Baildon, who were without regular opener Simon Davies, made a poor start and were soon 21-2, but skipper Ian Philliskirk was unmoved. He batted superbly and dominated his sides's reply. He made a stunning 110 from 124 balls with five sixes and 11 fours. Such was his dominance that only 38 runs had been scored at the other end when he departed at 148-6.
Scott Bent (18) and Mushtaq Ahmed (18) tried to force the pace in the closing over but Congs held their nerve. Baildon were dismissed for 197 with Nathan Bromby, Glenn Roberts and Scott Cunningham, all finishing with two wickets.
