For Season 2008, The JCT 600 Bradford Cricket League Umpires Association has adopted the ECB umpires assessment form.
The form itself is now split into the following three sections:
1. Communications: This is split into two sub sections. These are effective relationships with captains and players and prohection of a confident image.
2.Control of the match: In this section umpires are judged in three areas. The first is the appropriate level of intervention, the second is their composure and reaction to pressure and the third is their level of teamwork.
3 Decision making: This is split into two sub sections, the application of law and playing conditions and the second is interpretation of ground, weather and light.
There is also a section for further comments in which captains can highlight issues regarding the performance of the umpires.
Guidelines for Marking: Under each of the sections the umpires have to be graded by captains The categories are exceptional, very good, competent, unsatisfactory and poor.
Facilities marking: The visiting captain has to mark the quality of the picth, outfield, operation of the scoreboard and changing facilities. A mark out of ten has to be given for each of the four headings.
