South Yorkshire League v JCT 600 Bradford League |
The JCT 600 Bradford League crashed out of the White Rose Trophy when the South Yorkshire

League outplayed them to secure a four-wicket second round win at Tickhill.
For the South Yorkshire League the result was sweet revenge for the defeat they suffered at Bradford's hands in the 2005 final.
In many ways the game was reminiscent to last year's final when Bradford were made to pay for poor early batting by the Aire-Wharfe League.
Bradford plunged to 38-4 as Hallam's pace bowler Dan Holmes claimed the wickets of Scott Etherington, Andrew Rennison and Danny Lloyd after Ben Webster had captured the prize wicket of skipper Mark Robertshaw.
Keighley's Max Davidson (18) and Farsley's David Syers (20) tried to help Saltaire's Adal Islam revive the innings but both were out as the score sagged to 115-6.
Islam didn't let the growing crisis trouble him and that was evident as he cajoled last man Craig Wiseman of Cleckheaton into adding 40 for the last wicket. Islam finished unbeaten on 80, a superb effort in the situation. He hit nine fours. Holmes finished with three for 34 and Joe Webster (3-32)
Islam's efforts ensured that a total of 192 was posted which would at least present some kind of challenge to the determined South Yorkshire side.
Bradford needed early wickets to have a realistic chance of winning but Elsecar's Matt Jordan made sure his side got a sound start with a knock of 30.
Barnsley's Steve Nuttall carried on the good work with 32 before middle order wobble saw South Yorkshire slip to 135-6. Morley off spinner Tom Smith picked up two wickets as did the irrepressible Islam
Tickhill's Tom Barnett, relishing playing on his own ground, made sure his side suffered no further alarms as he hit an unbeaten 32 and shared an unbroken partnership of 58 with Dan Holmes (28no) which saw South Yorkshire complete their win with 6.2 overs to spare.
